Summer Sports

What I really enjoyed about this term was Summer sports.
My favourite activity was Playball, because I kept on getting long hits and home runs and I also showed Cameron (team captain) up. It all started when we versed Mot South; they had 11 players and we only had 10 which meant that one person in our team had to go twice.
So, Cameron, Kase and I were all arguing over who should go twice. Everyone said that I should bat twice because I’ve been making many home runs, but Kase said that Cameron should go twice because he was team captain.
It was Cameron’s turn and we already had 2 people out so it all relied on Cameron. Cameron went to go do his AWESOME bat and got a strike, so he tried again and got another strike, so he tried one last time and got the whole team out and we had to swap sides.
So I went up to Cameron and said, “That’s why everyone wanted me to bat twice!”
That’s why Summer sports was my favourite time of the term.

Another Cindy Story

For school we are learning to use Speech marks in our writing and I’m going to give you an example.

“What are you looking at?” Anastasia says to Cindy.
“Ohh, sorry I was just admiring your beauty, step sister,” Cindy says to Anastasia.
“Don’t you have work to do, you pathetic thing?” Lucy says to Cindy.
“No I don’t. It’s my lunch break, remember,” Cindy says to both of her step sisters.
“Well, your lunch break is officially over,” the two step sisters say nastily.
“But I only just started my lunch break,” Cindy says in disappointment.
“Well... now you have to get back to or we’ll tell Mother,” Anastasia says.
“I’m sorry, I’ll get back to work right away,” Cindy whimpers softly.

That’s my example of using speech marks in a conversation.

EOTC

On Friday we went to the Abel Tasman to do a long hike for our E.O.T.C (Education Outside The Classroom).
When we first started the walk, my partner was Karene, and we started right at the very back, but when we had just passed Tinline Bay we had morning tea. I was tired of being left behind so instead I went to the front with Tangiwai and Mrs. Rolls.
We weren’t allowed to keep walking because we had to wait for Mrs. Walls to hurry up because we didn’t even know where she was. But Mrs. Rolls just decided to take the group that had already finished their morning tea and Mrs. Currie and Mr. Crudge would take the other group.
All of the people who went with Mrs. Rolls were starting to slack and so we only ended with about 7 with Mrs. Rolls in the front. The people who were left with Mrs. Rolls were trying to be right at the front with Mrs. Rolls. I seemed to get to the front by sneaking my way through everyone.
Once we arrived at Apple Tree  Bay I had a little snack then went to go and climb on the big rocks and explore them. When I went over there I noticed there were heaps of bees and wasps hanging around the rocks.
When we left and headed back to Tinline for lunch I still managed to stay in front next to Mrs. Rolls. Once we arrived at Tinline Bay there was a huge sigh of relief and excitement. Then I tried to eat my lunch as fast as I could so I could go swimming. When I touched the water my body froze, but I soon got over it.
Once I was refreshed we were back on our walk to the bus.
We finally arrived to the bus with success.

More Awesome Things - Aching Bones

I just love that feeling when you know you can just relax after doing something that tires you out really quickly, and you can just sit on the couch with a cold drink and watch T.V knowing you’re completed what you’ve wanted to do.

It is the perfect feeling after you’ve had aching bones and REALLY sore legs.

Awesome Thing - Getting a Foot Massage

When you’re getting a massage and feeling that warmness on your skin. When someone’s massaging your feet and getting a tingly feeling running up from your legs upwards when your feet stop throbbing. It’s like putting your feet into a new pair of shoes and your feet sink into the pair of shoes. Feeling your bones crack when someone's hands are pushing back and forth.

Now that’s what I call AWESOME!!!

Swimming Fun

Last Friday Room 3 and 4 went survival swimming in pyjamas and clothes at St Peter Chanel.  It was fun.  We had a ball.

We discovered that it was extremely difficult to swim in heavy clothes.

Here are some photos to show you what we did:

“I’m flying”

We were talking about safety swimming…some of us got an F

This is what happens if you don’t watch the kids!

For the People of Christchurch

We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

From Karene

Dear Christchurch,

We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.

We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.

From Hannah

                            Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
