Sumdog

Room 4 did the Sumdog Contest which was a mix of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and word problems.

The Sumdog Contest runs for seven days and each student has 1000 questions each to answer and you have to get as many questions right as you can out of the 1000 questions.

If you get some questions wrong you get put down on the scoreboard and if you get more right out of 1000 you get put up on the scoreboard. The school with the best score wins the contest. The school that gets the most points wins the contest gets a certificate for winning.

Physical Change

This is my physical change for our chocolate day. We had to explain what physical change happened to the food we brought and the food I brought was chocolate brownies.

I have donated 4410 grains of rice to people

I have fed 44 people in Syria

The United Nations World food program gets the rice and takes it to Syria.

 I made a AH 64 Apache helicopter out of Lego for my homework.

Why: to make a AH 64 Apache helicopter to show the class what I did for my homework.
How: by measuring how long it needs and how high it needs to be. Then look at a picture of it and then making it out of Lego.

Armistice Day

Armistice Day

The Great War [World War One in 1918] ended when the peace treaty was signed on the 11^th of November 1918 at 11 am.

Armistice day is celebrated on the closest Saturday to the 11^th of November.

The main race is the Peace Shield which is held at the end of the day and it is 220 yards.

Returned solders and teachers made athletics day happen

In the 1960s they changed it to the closest Saturday so parents can come along.

This is my poster for devotions this term.

Daniel in the den of lions.

Daniel’s life and ministry span the entire seventy-year period
of Babylonian Captivity.

For Room Four's devotions "God is our Provider" we made posters to explain what we are doing. I chose the topic "Mankind" and in Mankind I chose Company. We had to explain why god provided Company for us.

I chose Company because I like being around my friends and because they comfort me.

This is a bible verse about company.

On Wednesday the 12th of June 2013 Room Four had a sleep over at school for the Forty Hour Famine for Papua New Guinea. The Forty Hour Famine is when you choose something to go without for forty hours.
Liam and Pamela were in charge of the sleepover  they did a really good job with it. At 7:30 pm
 Room Four played a big game of spotlight, I hid in a very small crack and the spotter just walked right past me. I was glad I didn't get spotted. After the game of spotlight we watched Wreck it Ralph, it was really funny. We had tea while we watched the movie. For tea we had chips, sausages, bread and some fizzy drinks while we watched the movie. After that we went to bed but I wasn't tired
In the morning we had breakfast which bread and spread plus milo.
After we watch another movie called Jumanji it was really cool after we had to pack up because it was school time.

We did poem/raps for are writing we had to make a poem that rimes and then we had to rap it.

Summer Tournament 

On the 27^th of march room 4 went to the summer tournament at the Motueka rec centre activities were ultimate Frisbee, Touch and Volleyball.

For Ultimate Frisbee it is a wee bit like netball we had to through the Frisbee to another  person in your team without another person from the other team trying to get it and try to get it in the half circle.

Then it was Touch Rugby, which is a bit like football. There is a team and we had to try not to get touched 6 times. If you did get touched 6 times the other team gets the ball and they will try to get it and try to get try.

After it was volleyball is a bit like catch which our team wasn’t the best at we had to try to get the ball over the net and try to get a point our team got better at it the more we played it.

Then it was prize giving we didn’t get an award after we left to go to school.

I like the summer tournament and it was my first time doing it.
