Cross Country
Last Friday our school participated in the Moutere Hills Cross Country. Year 5’s and under did one lap the Year 6, 7 and 8’s did two laps.
Mr Neil took us for a walk on the track to show us where to go so we don’t go the wrong way. About five minutes after the walk the Yr 5’s and under did their race.
I came 2nd in my race then Aroha D came 5th . Fletcher and Risi came 1st in their race.
There were only 10 Year 8’s in the race. At the end I went up to the front to get a certificate. There were quite a few who went up the front to get a certificate.
This Thursday some of us will be going along to the Motueka Cross Country.

Wednesday
On Wednesdays the year 7 and 8’s get to go to Motec. Aroha D, Tui, Tori, Karene, Cameron, Ethan and myself are the year 8’s. Risi, Aroha P, Hope, Tania, Lincoln, Kase, Tangiwai, Hannah, Ella, Shanara and Monica are the year 7’s.
The years 7’s were starting with cooking and we were starting with a wooden box.
I enjoy cooking and sewing. Although I am not good at sewing I still enjoy it. Next term the year 8’s will be doing sewing or cooking.

Moving
I am looking forward to the holidays because me and my family are moving into another house.
The only thing I don’t like about moving is we have to do a lot of work.
There are 20 more days until we move into the other house. I am so excited to move into this new house.
When we do move into the house Asher, Keilah and I will get picked up later than the original time.

Hanging Out With the Interns
Every Wednesday there are people from Church of Christ who come and hang out with us. There are eight groups that we can participate in. I am in the Art group with Emily, Josh, Hannah T, Karene, Tori, Hannah P, Ella and Brooklyn.
We will be painting the rock climbing wall and abseiling wall. Our group was thinking of putting our schools verse on it, which is, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalms 119:105.
I am having a great time with the Interns.

Our Trip
Last Friday Room 4 left at nine o’clock to get on the bus and travel to Marahau. That is because we were walking to Apple Tree Bay for our whole school trip, except only Room 4 went to Apple Tree Bay with four adults. The rest of the school were going with the other parents and teachers to Tin Line Bay.
When we got off the bus we had to choose a partner and I chose Aroha P.
Just as we got up to the bridges we saw Risi and she said that Tangiwai was with Asher, so she came and joined our group. After me and Aroha P found Risi we stopped at Tinline camping ground.
Then we still walked further than Ti line camping ground to Apple Tree Bay.
When we got back from Apple Tree Ba,y Tangiwai, Tui, Risi, Aroha P ran down to the bay because they were so excited.
After a while the whole school grabbed their stuff and Room 4 followed Mr Crudge and Mr Freeman back to the buses.
Finally we got to rest on the grass. Mrs Rolls took photos of us pretending to be dead. Then the rest of the school came and we all left the park and jumped on the bus to go back home.

Don’t you just love having sleepovers with your friends? It is great watching awesome movies and eating chocolate and heaps of party food.
I like hearing the sound of friends giggling while they’re eating food.
AWESOME.

For the People of Christchurch
We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

Dear Christchurch,
We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.
We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.
May God give you "the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair". Isaiah 61:3

Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.
AMEN

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
