U.M
U.M
(Unaccompanied Minor)
Isn't it awesome when you’re flying in an aeroplane as an U.M. The flight attendants are constantly checking up on you, asking if you want more lollies or some water, and when you are finally well stocked up with lollies you just sit back and relax. When you look out the window you see clouds that you could just reach out and touch. Then suddenly the clouds fade away and you see how high you really are, and you see the cars like ants and the people like moving grains of sand. You see the land set out like a giant moving map. You hear the pilot over the intercom, “OK, we are about to touch down, if you could please buckle your seat belts and we will arrive at the destination shortly.” So you gather up your things and get ready to hop out ….AWESOME!!!

Frawm
Frawm
(Freezing and Warm)
Isn’t it awesome when you are sitting in front of a hot fire eating something freezing cold; take for example vanilla ice-cream. As you’re sitting there feeling all warm on the outside, you’re freezing cold on the inside. If you have never tried this try it as soon as possible ....
AWESOME!!!

Autumn
Autumn
Fells like a warm blanket wrapped around me on a cold day,
Sounds like the light pitter patter of rain on the roof,
Tastes like homemade pumpkin soup,
Looks like a carpet of red fallen leaves,
Smells like wood burning on a bonfire…

Summer Sports - Volleyball
I’m sitting on the cold wooden floor of the Rec Centre. I absentmindedly take a bite of my hazel nut muesli bar. I hear the squeaking of sneakers and the sound of volleyballs hitting the ground. I love volleyball
But I’m glad to have a by. The whistle blows and teams explode with cheering and laughing. My team, the Cute Kitties (NOT my name choice by the way) get up; we are ready for the next game. I put the remains of my muesli bar in my lunch box and stand up. We walk over to our court and the whistle blows, game on. I promise myself to get the ball over the net and not to be afraid of it. I stand in front of the net, Jayden (our team captain) does paper, scissors, rock with the others team’s captain and they win. The girl at the back serves, the ball comes towards me, I spike it over the net… SUCCESS!!! Our team wins, 8-9. I laugh. If I hadn’t got the ball over we would have lost. What an EPIC day.

Little Red Riding Hood - Rewritten
Red Riding Hood Part One (Rewritten)
“Now, now Red don’t go talking to strangers on the way to Grandma’s will you,” said Lisa, Red Riding Hood’s mother.
“Yeah, yeah whaaaaatever,” said Red Riding Hood.
“Good girl” said Lisa, “now how do you get to grandmas?”
Red Riding Hood sighed. They’d been through this over a million times. “Over the bridge, through the valley and down Lotter’s Lane, Mum. We’ve been over this. I know how to get to Grandma’s house.”
“O.K., O.K. I just want you to be safe,” said Lisa, so Red took of down the road and Lisa watched her until she was just a little spot I the distance. “I do hope she will be safe,” Lisa sighed, and went to make some scones.
“Why does mum have to be so over-protective?” Red asked herself as she came to an intersection. She went to turn left as she had so many times before, or was it right? Red couldn’t remember. “Oh no!” Red sat down on a nearby bench.
She thought about how her mother was so worried about her getting lost, but she pushed that thought away. “No, I can do this!” Red stood up and saw people staring at her. She laughed. “O.K. first I need to stop talking to myself.”

Rainbow Mufti Day
On Friday 18th March TBCS had a RAINBOW mufti day with all the colours of the RAINBOW, minus yellow, and adding pink. I dressed in purple.
After lunch we went outside and made a RAINBOW, ironically on the ground.
It was lots of fun. Yay! Go rainbows!

On Friday 18th March TBCS had a RAINBOW themed mufti day. We all dressed in a single RAINBOW colour.
After lunch everyone went outside and stood in a RAINBOW shape according to our colour and we took photos.
Tori and Karene
All the money raised today was for our sponsored World Vision child, Helen. We raised $102!

Abel Tasman Walk (EOTC) Review
Last Friday we went on an EOTC trip (Education outside the Classroom). We went to the Abel Tasman! I really enjoyed being in the bush.
Room 4 - being the “big kids” – walked to Apple Tree Bay then back to Tinline Bay and met up with the others to have lunch. It took us about 3 hours all up.
We got some really cool photos of the bush and ocean. My favourite bit was having lunch at Tinline Bay, even though I lost my lunch to a seagull.
I also really enjoyed looking at the contrasts of the sea and sand.
My mum and our home stay, Lilli, came on the walk too and I know they had an awesome time! Of course everyone from TBCS had a really fun time (not having any school work!)
This trip was AWESOME and I can’t wait for the next one!!!

More Awesome Things - Once in a Lifetime
I was sitting with my friend watching sheep; little white cotton buds on a green field, and one of the closer sheep had a lamb. I decided to get out my camera to take a picture when the lamb turned around. To our surprise the lamb had a smile on its face! We figured it was demented (either that or it was a really smart sheep!) but it only later that I realised that was a once in a life time chance…

Awesome Thing - That Time You Wake Up and Realise It's the Weekend
It’s Saturday morning and you wake up in a warm bed. With a smile, you remember those plans you have for later that day. You snuggle down and get that satisfied feeling that you have survived another week at school.
You remember that 98% you got on your maths test and that awesome feeling of extreme happiness when you remember that new friend you made at soccer and you know for sure that you will be BFFs. You think of what you’re going to have for breakfast; maybe cocopops, weetbix or nutragrain. You think how nice it would be if you’re mum decided to make pancakes.
You relax and just lie there and think…
AWESOME!

Swimming Fun
Last Friday Room 3 and 4 went survival swimming in pyjamas and clothes at St Peter Chanel. It was fun. We had a ball.
We discovered that it was extremely difficult to swim in heavy clothes.
Here are some photos to show you what we did:
“I’m flying”
We were talking about safety swimming…some of us got an F
This is what happens if you don’t watch the kids!

For the People of Christchurch
We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

Dear Christchurch,
We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.
We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.
May God give you "the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair". Isaiah 61:3

Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.
AMEN

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
