PLP

This is what is on my PLP ( personal learning plans)
Collaborator

I enjoy swimming. I like to work in teams and I enjoy doing tasks that involve others, and I like to do problem solving

Swimming

I will teach the little kids to breathe properly in the water. I will explain what working in a team is (cooperation) and then we will practise it  in a game.

Netball

I will teach them how to do proper netball passes and how to shoot in to the hoop.

On Wednesday 28th of march I taught Bella how to do netball passes and then right after she taught jasmine to pass properly to. Collaborator : I like to work in teams and I enjoy doing tasks that involve others, and I like to do problem solving. I explained it demonstrated it and then she gave it a try. I did succeed in teaching her and she got better at positioning her hands. I think that me teaching my skills to them improved their skills and I’m really glad I got this opportunity to teach them.

Te Papa

It was really fun to look around and see all the ancient clothing and tools they used to have
It was interesting to find out about all the English people that came over in ships because of hunger , money and natural
disasters .When we were at Te papa Hope, Asher, Tania and Fletcher Had to act as a family in a cramped up in a hole in the ship Where they had to sleep, eat and go to the toilet in. The best part about Te Papa was the awesome forces and all the activities that we could  do.

What I Enjoyed

This year I really enjoyed lots of things. I enjoyed swimming, summer sports, Motec, the interns coming, Abel Tasman walk, and best of all Mrs Rolls.
For  swimming I enjoyed winning my freestyle race and coming third in my backstroke race.
For summer sports I enjoyed competing with others and hanging out with my friends.
I really enjoyed the Able Tasman walk, just seeing all the waterfalls and finally reaching Apple Tree Bay.
What I enjoyed with the interns was playing treasure hunt games. I found two lollies.

Summer Sports

Yesterday on Thursday 7th April Room 4 went to Summer Sports. It was so fun and there was more then 400 people there.

The first game of Playball we played was against Mot South, but that was really bad cause I was versing one of my friends.  It was ok though cause we beat them.

Next we versed Upper Moutere. They were really good but we didn't finish our innings so it was a tie.

The last team we played was Lower Moutere. They were the best team we versed and they kept on getting home runs, but they only won by 4 because we didn't finish our second inning.

The people who were in my team were  Risi, Jayden, Ethan, Aroha, Tania, Ella, Tori, Hannah and Lincoln.

Buddies!

Yesterday Room 4 and Room 2 did some buddy reading in the library.  We had loads of fun together and Mrs Rolls loved watching us sharing books with our buddies.
Here is what we thought:
“The funny little thing was that Abby was partnered with Abby.”  Abby
“My little buddy was cute and cuddly.  We read 5 books!  She was very respectful.”  Shanara
“I enjoyed listening to my little buddy, Mia, read.”  Tangiwai
“Me and my buddy found out that all pigs are beautiful.” Karene
“I enjoyed reading with little Caleb because he actually listened and he liked The Incredibles too.”  Jayden
“It was hard to read when Jack kept giggling at the funny sea animals that kept eating each other.  I think he really enjoyed the book!” Ethan

Abel Tasman Walk

On Friday we went hiking in the Abel Tasman National Park.
What I really enjoyed was when we got to Apple Tree Bay and climbed inside a cave. It was so cool and it was really deep.
When we got to Tinline Bay I was so happy, I ran down to the beach and kissed the sand!
While I was waiting for Asher to bring  my bag (he wanted to carry them) I went over to the water and put my feet into the water. It was so cold it felt like ice.
When Asher came with my bag I ran over to him, grabbed my bag and got changed and jumped straight in.
When we left I had to walk back to the bus with bare feet because my feet were too wet to put my shoes on.  It was sore!!!!

Awesome Thing - Opening a Pencil Case

It’s really fun to open a pencil case, slowly moving your hand, feeling the vibrations vibrating through your hand, hearing the zipper open and finely it’s done

It's awesome!
                              AWESOME!!!!

Swimming Fun

Last Friday Room 3 and 4 went survival swimming in pyjamas and clothes at St Peter Chanel.  It was fun.  We had a ball.

We discovered that it was extremely difficult to swim in heavy clothes.

Here are some photos to show you what we did:

“I’m flying”

We were talking about safety swimming…some of us got an F

For the People of Christchurch

We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

From Karene

Dear Christchurch,

We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.

We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.

From Hannah

May God give you "the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair".  Isaiah 61:3
From Asher

From Tania

                            Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.
                                            AMEN
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
