Mrs Rolls Mufti Day
Mrs Rolls Mufti Day!
Today when the kids from Mapua hopped off the bus, Mrs Rolls got a big surprise!!! I walked up the balcony in my blonde wig dressed all in blue green and purple and when I got to the staff room where all the teachers were I stopped and flicked my hair! All the teachers were laughing their heads off!It didn’t take long for her to guess what the theme was either! It was pretty easy to tell that the theme was her when you looked at my blonde curly wig!!!
All of the other kids did a great job of dressing up too! One kid had made a cardboard coffee cup! A girl in my class went in a cardboard book that she made, because Mrs Rolls LOVES reading. - Hannah. T J

Week in Review
On Monday we went to Tasman’s cross country and it was pretty good. And today we have another one at Rabbit Island and all the primary schools around the Motueka area will be going.
We have been doing kapa haka practice and a day ago (on Wednesday) we all got asked if we want to be in the kapa haka group, but I decided not to because I don’t like it much!
Also room 4’s class room, (my class room!) has done lots of blue and green paintings and stuck them on the walls to decorate the place! We have only done part of the class room though, but we are aiming to get the whole room done before Mrs Rolls leaves at the end of the term!

The Accident
THE ACCIDENT
We were running back down the road in cross country training, and I was coming in the top ten, when we all heard a squealing of brakes and skids of tyres. And all at once we started sprinting to the finish line to see what had happened. We stopped in our tracks as we neared the end. I saw three vehicles; a truck with fertiliser in it and two cars. The truck had tipped over and one of the cars was ablaze.
Luckily the driver and passenger were fine and the truck driver was fine too, but in the other car next to the one that was on fire had a man in it and he was injured and if someone didn’t get him out quick he might have a very hard time in the car if it caught fire too.
Luckily a few minutes later we heard the comforting sounds of sirens getting closer by the second and I didn’t get too see any more because Mrs Rolls sent all the kids inside.

Autumn to Winter
Crisp, golden, yellow, brown.
Falling, fluttering, to the ground.
Chilly winds, and cold morning air,
Now we know that autumns here.
Winter too, is closing in,
We start our fires, so we are warm within.

Happy Day
Friday 25th March
Today I felt proud of myself, because I moved up to Reading Plus. I had to do a test but it wasn’t too hard, and Mrs Rolls said I did quite well.
I like the reading log that we have to do as part of our compulsory homework, and at the moment I am reading Little Women. Next, I might read The Hunch Back Of Notre Dame.
I am starting to get in to Spanish, and when I go to college, I want to keep learning!

Apple Tree Bay Hike
Friday was pretty good but very tiring. I was so tired at the end of the walk I thought that I was either going to collapse or have a heart attack! I think everyone was looking forward to the weekend, but it whizzed by so quickly it seemed like it never happened.
I managed to keep up with Mrs Rolls most of the way and we joked about the others being slow! And when we heard them further behind us, we ran so they wouldn’t catch up.
We were all sooooo tired and sore when we got back to the buses and I really wish that the weekends are longer or that the holidays would hurry up!
Apple Tree Bay was so cool with golden, sandy beach and refreshing cold water to bathe your feet in, and Tinline bay was good too, but it had heaps of rocks and sharp shells which weren’t so nice. I think that we should have had lunch at Apple Tree Bay but Mrs Rolls wanted us to go all the way back to Tinline with the rest of the kids for lunch, so we dragged ourselves back to Tinline and collapsed on the rocks, panting! Finally had lunch!

More Awesome Things - Rain and Fog
Isn’t it just awesome when you wake up early in the morning and you’re all warm and cosy in bed and outside it’s all foggy and raining really hard? And you just lie there, listening to the pattering of the rain drops.
AWESOME!

Awesome Thing - The World of Books
Isn’t it so amazing when you are just on the exciting last few chapters of your book? And you just can’t get your nose out of it, even when your mum asks for the third or fourth time to fold the washing? Empty the dish washer? Or play with your sibling?
And at the end you just sit there in a daze dreaming what it would be like to be in your favourite characters shoes. Living a life of not your own but some one elses?
It’s just AWESOME!

For the People of Christchurch
We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

Dear Christchurch,
We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.
We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.
May God give you "the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair". Isaiah 61:3

Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.
AMEN

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
