Library

Yesterday me, Asher, Pamela and Mrs Rolls went to the library to get out same books and to get me a library card.
Once we got there we found out that the library doesn't open until 9.30 and it was 9.14.  So, we went down the street to see the others at Motec.
We surprised them and got to see them making their cupcakes and their boxes as well.
Once it was 9.30 we walked across the road and went to the library.
As soon as we got there I got my card and them we got Ella's card.
I chose 3 books: Charlie Small, Cows in Action (World War Moo) and Guardians of Gahool.
Me and Asher tried to search Diary of a Wimpy Kid but the computer came up with nothing.
After that I got out my books and hopped in the car then Asher got his books and got in the car too. Pamela also got out her books and we went back to school.
I really enjoyed going to the library.

Summer Sports

Yesterday we did summer sports.  We had  to do playball, Ultimate Frisbee and volleyball.  We left at 9.30 am and came back at 2.20 pm.  My team was great at playball.  We only lost one game out of three games all together.  We rocked in volleyball. We lost one again in four games.  We did three games in Ultimate Frisbee and lost one game and in the whole entire thing we came second in Ultimate Frisbee.  The score for one game in playball was three points and all together we got six points.  In volleyball our first game we won.  We did so GOOD!!!

Little Red Riding Hood

We have been practising our speech marks.  Here is my example.

Little Red Riding Hood opened the door to Grandma’s house, when suddenly rats come out of the house and they were going somewhere.
“Man, grandma needs to clean up this place,” said Little Red Riding Hood. “Flip, Grandma sure does need to get some lights in here.”
Red Riding Hood went into the kitchen.   “Pooh, what’s that smell?” she said  to her Grandmother, who was standing in the kitchen.
“Oh, hello,  dear that was just my oven.  The cookies must be ready,” said Grandma.
“I just came to tell you  I got first in the judo to tournament and I got a gold medal,” said Little Red Riding Hood.

Buddies!

Yesterday Room 4 and Room 2 did some buddy reading in the library.  We had loads of fun together and Mrs Rolls loved watching us sharing books with our buddies.
Here is what we thought:
“The funny little thing was that Abby was partnered with Abby.”  Abby
“My little buddy was cute and cuddly.  We read 5 books!  She was very respectful.”  Shanara
“I enjoyed listening to my little buddy, Mia, read.”  Tangiwai
“Me and my buddy found out that all pigs are beautiful.” Karene
“I enjoyed reading with little Caleb because he actually listened and he liked The Incredibles too.”  Jayden
“It was hard to read when Jack kept giggling at the funny sea animals that kept eating each other.  I think he really enjoyed the book!” Ethan

Bush Walk

Last Friday we went to Abel Tasman for a bush walk.  It took about 30 minutes to get there on the bus.
The little kids in Rooms 1, 2, 3 left at ten o’clock and we left at nine o’clock.
Once we got on the track, the views were just amazing with the sea and the sand and the trees.  It was just amazing.  Our walk was three hours to get to Apple Tree Bay and to get back to Tinline Bay to have lunch and a swim.
Mrs Rolls had to keep telling the people at the back to be quiet because other people were trying to enjoy peace and quiet.
Once we got to Tinline Bay we had lunch with the whole school.  Then we got to go for a swim and Miss Aldridge even got in. The water was freezing cold and everyone keep slipping over on the slippy rocks.
After that we had to go back to school. My favourite part was when we got to relax on the way home.

More Awesome Things - Chip

Isn’t it funny that my family and I were driving to Invercargill when me and Zac were eating potato chips and I grabbed a chip that looked like a little mouse’s head?
But then I got hungry so I ate the mouse and it was good.
       AWESOME!!

Awesome Thing - Having the Remote

Having the remote is such an enjoyment, to have the adrenalin to change to whatever channel you like. Like you can watch cartoons instead of watching those boring adverts in the mornings about boring mops and those dumb steam cleaners. And having the power to turn it up to how loud you like it till your eardrums explode  into pieces. So, I think that is...
Awesome!

Swimming Fun

Last Friday Room 3 and 4 went survival swimming in pyjamas and clothes at St Peter Chanel.  It was fun.  We had a ball.

We discovered that it was extremely difficult to swim in heavy clothes.

Here are some photos to show you what we did:

“I’m flying”

We were talking about safety swimming…some of us got an F

This is what happens if you don’t watch the kids!

For the People of Christchurch

We wanted to let the people of Christchurch know that we are thinking of them and praying for them, so we decided to each use our strengths to encourage them.

From Karene

Dear Christchurch,

We hope that all the people who are trapped will be able to get out alive and that there will be no more earthquakes, so you can clean up the city.

We have heard about the robberies and feel sorry for you because you do not deserve any more grief than there already is.

From Hannah

May God give you "the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair".  Isaiah 61:3

                            Dear Lord Jesus
Christchurch has just had a very bad experience of a 6.3Earthquake. May you please help all the family and friends that are trapped in buildings and I pray that Christchurch will stop having earthquakes.
May you please bless everybody living in Christchurch and that you will heal all the people that are in hospital from having buildings
collapse on them.

Dear People of Christchurch,
I have heard about the earthquake. I’m glad people from different countries are helping people get out of rubble.
I’m very sorry if you have loved ones who have died or are still trapped.
I’m sorry for some of you that have lost your jobs in Christchurch I’m sorry if you got hurt in the earthquake.
We are thinking of you praying for you and raising money for you.
